Missouri – DBA

File A Missouri DBA

In Missouri, if any businessman wants to run his business with the name than his own registered name which is known as an assumed name should file a DBA with the Missouri Secretary of State. Besides required by a state law, registration is beneficial as it helps the business to be operated with the different names in different states, and avoid confusions that occur because of the laws.

Sometimes while filing for a DBA can also assist a business to get a bank account with the DBA designation instead of a true name. Besides, registration also increases the legitimacy of the business and increases credibility in the eyes of the business parties with whom dealing is being made. It also protects the business against any trademark infringement or deceptive trade practices.

Rules for Filing Missouri DBA

As per Section 417.200 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri state that if a business is conducted with an assumed name instead of a real name, registration is done with the Secretary of State’s office.
